Address: C/ Antonio Domínguez Alonso, s/n | Playa de las Americas, Arona, Tenerife, Canary Islands 38660, Spain
Imagine a thatched-roof bar surrounded by gently nodding palms. Now add a good helping of hot, hot sunshine. In the distance theres the sound of a splashing waterfall. But dont be fooled, youre not in the Caribbean. This is in fact Tenerife. The Tenerife Princess to be precise – one of Playa de las Americas most impressive hotels. Our tour here begins with the swimming pool. Like a tropical lagoon, its curving sweep of cool blue water is crossed by a suspension rope bridge and cocooned by lush gardens. The piece de resistance, however, is the cascading waterfall that trickles down into the pool. The surrounding sun terrace is peppered with parasols and sunbeds making this the perfect spot to just kick back, relax and soak up the sun. Giving the pool a run for its money, however, is the hotel lobby. All marble, glass elevators and exotic plants, its even got an indoor stream! There are more treats in store down at the restaurant. Run your finger down the a la carte menu and have meals served to your table. Watch chefs rustle up mouthwatering food at the show cooking station. And dont miss the fortnightly themed dinners. If you want to work off some of those calories, theres plenty in the way of facilities here. Have a knock about down on the tennis courts. Or maybe get your adrenaline pumping with an energetic game of squash. If all that sounds like too much like hard work, make a beeline for the sauna where you can just sit back in the dry heat and let your worries drift away. And if you just want to bliss out on golden sands, the beach is only about a five to ten minute stroll. You see, its true – when the pace of life is this relaxed, you could be forgiven for thinking youre in the Caribbean. Enjoy. The Tenerife Princess has a welcoming atmosphere and facilities that never fail to impress. If you think the cool marble, glass-sided lifts, the flowing stream and the tropical plants in the reception area is breathtaking, wait until you see the pool! The curving suite of cool blue water crossed by a rope suspension bridge is set against a backdrop of lush gardens and a gushing waterfall. The thatched bar, set in the water, is a delightful shady place from which to take in the surroundings. | |
