Sorrento lies about 35 miles from the airport at Naples, and has an excellent range of high class hotels and apartments on offer. Based on a hillside, there is access to a small beach via lifts or by car, with most of the sunbathing being taken on floating wooden platforms. The shopping facilities are quite good with the usual Italian goods available, and for the more active, there's a variety of water sports and tennis to try. The evenings tend to be spent in the cafes and piano bars, with additional entertainment provided by the hotels. | |
