Address: Punta Cana, Domincan Republic, Caribbean
Prepare to be impressed. This hotel (formerly SuperClubs Breezes Punta Cana) is big, its bold and its positively bursting with things to do. For a start, its snatched a prime spot on the islands east coast – a sun-blushed slice of beachfront that simply begs to be sprawled upon. Spend dreamy days sifting sugary sand between your fingers or swimming in the emerald waters washing the shores. Then, of course, theres the hotel itself to consider. Linked to the main pool – which, by the way, is huge – is a winding river that snakes around the palm-peppered grounds, with waterfalls, bridges and slides thrown in for good measure. Theres a fabulous swim-up bar serving up thirst-quenching cocktails, and comfy, cushion-plumped sunloungers look seductively back at you from every angle, so topping up your tan is a piece of cake. And that brings us nicely to all the things you can do when youre not lounging in the sun. Wow. In a word. As well as all the usual activities you might expect, like tennis, football and a full range of watersports, theres a rock-climbing wall. You can even try your hand at trampolining or have a go on a circus trapeze. If the kids are coming too, theres a hotel-run childrens club to keep them entertained, plus a playground which will help get rid of all their excess energy. Come meal times, treat your tastebuds to a host of international flavours in the main restaurants buffet. Or go for one of the a la carte restaurants, which serve everything from French and Italian to Mexican and Japanese. |
