Smaragdi Studios - 3 Star (Depts Wed & Sat)

Kos town lies 15 miles from the airport and is the capital of the island. It is a mix of modern and historical buildings, with a 15th century castle dominating the harbour area. A variety of modest standard hotels, with the decent ones situated just outside the town, make up the bulk of the accommodation. There are a considerable number of souvenir shops and supermarkets to cater for all of your needs, while at night, the many bars and discos in the centre will keep you busy throughout the evening. A couple of beaches situated either side of the harbour are well equipped for water sports , and this is a good base to explore the other parts of the island.
