Many visitors come to Dubai for the top class horse racing, the Dubai World Cup is actually the world's richest horse racing event . Dubai is cosmopolitan and lively, with some of the finest hotels in the world. It has some of the world's best duty free shopping facilities, ranging from Western-style shops to the ancient souks where spices, perfume, clothing, antiques, handicrafts and jewels are available. Gold is a particularly popular and relatively inexpensive. One of the most popular attractions is the Jumeira Mosque where non-Muslims are allowed to enter on organised trips. Stayed here about three years ago, before all the building started, and it was very nice, so I went back again. Now the hotel is swamped by 30-storey apartments, and the whole area outside the hotel is a building site.

We booked for one week during October 2005 at the Sheraton Towers Jumeirah Beach in Dubai. The resort was wonderful, temperature in the 30"s, which is a little hotter than seasonal norm.
