| Rhodes lies within 20 miles of the Turkish coast, and sits at the end of the Dodecanese chain.23 miles wide and 47 miles long, it is one of the largest islands in Greece. Petaloudhes is known for it's Butterflies, while the west coast is fertile and is best known for it's grapes. Rhodes town houses the inter island and international ferries, and has a good choice of blue flag beaches, while on the west coast, it is rockier and much more windy. The main resorts of Faliraki and Lindos are sandy with great drinking and eating options, but peace and quiet is never far away in the little picture post card villages, silent mountains and hidden bays. | |
