The Manor House of Quinta Splendida Hotel was constructed in the 18th century at a beautiful site in the village of Caniço on 30.000 sm grounds with a breath-taking view over the Atlantic. In 1988 the property - then in disrepair - was carefully renovated according to the old designs and surrounded by a magnificent botanical garden. The complex is an extraordinary example of architectural beauty, featuring 2 magnificent restaurants and a thai lounge. Nearby at the sea, there are two diving stations. Also, within a few minutes drive from the hotel, there are the 2 golf courses of Palheiro Ferreiro (18 hole) and of Santo da Serra (27 hole). In Caniço itself, at about 100 m away, guests can find banks, shops and several restaurants. Moreover, the international airport of the island is about 12 km away.
