Accomodation was not fit for a rat. The whole resort needs bulldozing. The stafff were not friendly or helpful. The entertainment was average but not woth the hasstle. Never again!!!! (Wolverhampton)See the full report

Holiday camps pepper the North Wales coastline occupying the sites of the original and traditional style camps and among them was Tower Beach, Prestatyn.Prestatyn Holiday Camp as it was also known was opened in 1939 and occupied 41 acres on land near to Ffrith Beach. An advert from the 60s for the Prestatyn camp said: "...with hot and cold running water, one sitting only for meals..." It was taken over by the Royal Signals during the war and used more as a site for training than defence but it was restored as a holiday camp shortly after. The original camp was eventually acquired by Pontins in the 70s before being closed and the land used for housing development. Today, Pontins runs the Prestatyn Sands on another site near Central Beach at Barkby Avenue.
