Address: Precojo, Corsica, Franca
A villa built by a meticulous owner as his own home naturally has the highest standards of craftsmanship and comfort, and this is certainly the case with Villa Pierre Paul. Weve chosen this lovely villa, not only because its so comfortable and tastefully furnished, but also because it is situated in Precojo, a village which enjoys excellent access, as it is only 5km from the centre of Porto Vecchio, and is just off the road which links Porto Vecchio with Bonifacio.Despite its proximity to bustling Porto Vecchio, Villa Pierre Paul is one of the most private villas in our programme, set in the depths of a private domain, which comprises 4 hectares of meadow dotted with olive trees and oaks, on the edge of the village. A pretty stone croft, formerly used for storing hay, makes a charming independent suite in the grounds. At the heart of the villa is the wonderfully spacious living-dining room which has some fine pieces of modern and antique furniture, including an impressive solid-oak dining table, handsome dressers, modish ironwork armchairs, and even a wine press. Sliding bay windows lead from the sitting room to the covered veranda, which overlooks the pool area. This is the perfect place for lunching when the sun is at its hot zenith, whilst for breakfast and evening meals there is a shaded garden area and large summer kitchen to the side of the villa.Bonifacio is only just over 20km from Precojo, and fashionable Porto Vecchio is within a very short drive, whilst on the coast between are some of Corsicas most famous beaches: Palombaggia, Santa Giulia and Rondinara, as well as some of the islands lesser known ones. And if even the 5km to Porto Vecchio seems too much for a restaurant trip, there are several restaurants within a couple of kilometres of Precojo. |
