Rural and relaxing with a very large garden, Villa Paneccasio is ideal for families with young children. Its a modern villa, simply furnished and with cool tiled floors. Located between Calvi and Llle-Rousse, there are plenty of places of interest within easy reach. The beach at Lumio is 10km long, and in summer youll find canoes, diving and waterskiing available there, as well as a sailing school. In the evening you can stroll into the village and relax in one of the villages restaurants - its a small, homely resort with a few shops as well, though a better range of shopping can be found in Calvi. Calvi is also worth a visit on historical grounds - theres the impressive 15th-century citadel that overlooks the marina, the baroque church of Ste-Marie-Majeure and the promenade along Quai Landry, which is where youll find seafront cafes and restaurants. And then theres the marina itself, which is where youll find some splendid yachts, echoing the days when magnificent Genoese boats traded here; the days when Genoa was a major European sea power and this was their main port on Corsica. | |
