Megaliamos Beach is located about 1km outside Skiathos town. Steep hills that border the area protect the fine sand and light shingle beach from the strong northerly winds offering a calm beach resort. Here you will find plenty of beach activities such as water-skiing. Tavernas restaurants and a well-stocked mini market are located in the area. The town is a labyrinth of small roads and alleys where a walk away from the beach area will give a feel of local Skiathos life. The main road of the Island runs straight through the town, so travelling to other beach resorts or further a field is always a possibility. Transfer times are approximately 15 minutes from the airport.
