Address: Baie de Santa Guilia, Porto-Vecchio, Corsica 20537, France
The hotel is set directly on one of Corsicas most renowned beaches, with excellent facilities and a range of watersports that include diving, water-skiing, jet skis, sailing and windsurfing in high summer. Whether its having fun and being active or simply relaxing on fine, white sands and occasionally dipping your toe in the turquoise waters, the Moby Dick offers the ideal location. Within the hotel, ornate Corsican tiles add a splash of colour in the en suite bathrooms while the bedrooms have been thoughtfully decorated in attractive, muted shades. The hotel prides itself on its standards of comfort and quality service, while the gastronomic delights of the restaurant are a real treat. Tucked behind the hotel is a nature reserve. Home to a host of wildlife, including all sorts of migratory birds, this lagoon makes for a fascinating early evening stroll – although it can attract mosquitoes too, so make sure repellent is packed. Santa Giulia is nicely placed about halfway between Porto Vecchio, with its chic, cosmopolitan bars and restaurants, and Bonifacio. Bonifacio is a fascinating city, perched high on rocks that have eroded in such a way that its often compared to a ship carved out of the cliffs. The old town, rising high above the harbour, provides some impressive panoramic views and is resonant with the echoes of Corsicas intruiging, often violent, history. |
