Meltemi Village

Hersonissos lies about 20 miles from the airport and was once a sleepy fishing village. This is probably the liveliest resort on the island, with a great choice of hotels and apartment blocks to offer. The small coarse sandy beaches are safe to swim at, but they do tend to get quite crowded during the high season, and they also offer a great variety of different water sports for you to try. Well stocked shops with plenty of variety are to be found in the resort centre, and a walk in the surrounding mountains offer a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the town. Pubs, bars and discos can be found in abundance, with more traditional entertainment provided by the hotels.
