| Kusadasi lies about 52 miles from the airport at Izmir, and is another of the sprawling resorts that tends to have an unfinished look about it. Dust problems are quite common due the wind, but the harbour sees several cruise ships dock, as you can catch a ferry service to most of the Greek islands from here. A vast range of hotel and apartment blocks are on offer, but with the town centre about 2 miles from the beach, a choice has to be made as to which location suits you best. The man made beaches are reasonable, and have a good variety of water sports on offer, but they do tend to get quite packed during the high season. Arguably the largest selection of shops in all the resort areas, and with the pushiest salesmen, it's an experience to say the least. At night, a multitude of bars, discos and cafes in and around the harbour, will keep you busy throughout the evening, with the hotels putting on traditional shows and cabarets. |
