The Makis Apartments are located just on the outskirts of Moraitika approximately 100 metres from the main street where you will find supermarkets, shops, bars, cash points, car hire, bus stops etc. Moraitika has a long sand and shingle beach that gently shelves into the Ionian Sea. The Greek mainland lies a few miles across the water and there are splendid views of the hills and mountains along the coastline. Approximately 15 minutes drive away, on the West coast, are the very long sandy beaches of Halicouna and Issos. Just behind Halicouna lies Lake Korisson, a nature reserve, whilst Issos is backed by large sand dunes. To the South of Moraitika lie the fishing villages of Messonghi, Boukari and Petriti with a selection of fine fish tavernas. The apartments are simply furnished in a traditional Greek style and can accommodate 2, 3 or 4 people. The pool area is surrounded by attractive gardens ablaze with colour from the tubs and pots, orange and lemon trees. The beach has sun-beds which can be hired on a daily basis and there are various water-sports available. Numerous bars and tavernas serving snacks, meals and drinks, can be found along the beach. | |

The Makis Apartments were simple and suited us fine. A small kitchen area which we only ever use for making a cup of tea as we are on our holidays and just want a base.
