| Puerto Del Carmen sits against a backdrop of hills, 8 miles from the airport, and is the islands biggest and most popular resort. A few small hotels give way to a vast amount of apartments and self catering studios. Excellent sandy beaches with good windsurfing and scuba diving, will keep you busy during the day, and add to that tennis and horse riding, and it's not hard to see why, this is one of the most visited resorts on the island. The commercial centres and nearly 2 miles of shops will give even the greatest shopaholic a hard time to get around, and if it's wild night life your after, look no further, as this resort's not called the liveliest for nothing. Tapas bars, music bars, cocktail bars and discos. You name it, it's got it. There is, however, a small fishing port in the older side of town well worth a visit if only for a break from the main centre. |
