| Tobago is a small island with vast stretches of uncrowded white sandy beaches, coves and colourful coral reefs. The pace of life on the island is very relaxed and tranquil. The capital of Tobago is Scarborough which has many quaint houses, the interesting Botanic Gardens, Fort King George (built 1779) and a bustling market where locals sell their crafts on Fridays and Saturdays. Fort King George is an excellent point from which to view the sunset. For snorkelling or scuba diving Buccoo Reef, which is protected marine park, offers spectacular sights. The most famous beach in Tobago is Pigeon Point from which you can get an excursion, over the Buccoo Reef, in a glass bottomed boat. Tobago enjoys a tropical climate with December to April being the driest months, and June to September being the hottest months. | |
