Marien Coral Resort - the mere mention of the name and you know youre in for something special - the service and attention to detail are most definitely the watchwords here. And hows this for starters? When you arrive, youll be greeted with a refreshing glass of juice - the glasses are usually trimmed with frosted sugar around the edge. And its the little touches like this that make the big difference. Service aside, what about the hotel itself? Well, first up theres the location. Its gorgeous. Just gorgeous. Picture rolling green mountains on one side. Warm golden sands on the other. And you in between. You could say youre the filling in a paradise sandwich! And as if that wasnt enough, the town of Puerto Plata is within easy striking distance for nights out, too. A big tick on the location front, then. Likewise with the pool. Its got bridges and islands and twists off in all directions – definitely not your run-of-the-mill swimming pool. Whats more, theres plenty of space out on the sun terrace for you to lounge in style. Its very much a case of bestseller out, sunglasses on and chill. As to the food, its really good. Start the day with a leisurely breakfast. Perhaps a freshly-made smoothie out on the seaside terrace? Or maybe tuck into eggs down at the buffet restaurant where you can watch the chef flipping pancakes. Come dinnertime, theres plenty to choose from, including an a la carte Italian and a Tex-Mex restaurant. When youre ready to burn off some of those calories, take your pick from things like beach volleyball and aerobics. You can even try your hand at merengue or samba, Dirty Dancing-style. If thats not your cup of tea, how about some Spanish lessons to pick up some of the local lingo? With so much going on, the choice is yours. | |
