A medieval castle dating back to the 14th Century and a boutique hotel in one, the Castell dEmporda is a special choice. Set in a landscape of outstanding natural beauty it rests high on top of a hill overlooking the Emporda region, situated between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean. This architecutural gem has been restored by the current owners, Albert Diks and Margo Vereijken, who have converted it into a unique, stylish and intimate quality hotel with 27 high standard rooms and a fantastic restaurant. Savour the fresh ingredients on your plate, grown in the hotel garden or purchased daily from neighbouring farms and fishing villages, over a romantic meal as you dine in the exquisite courtyard setting. The rooms are captivating - some are located in the original part of the castle and are tastefully decorated with Indian silk and handmade bathroom tiles from Marrakech. The spectacular new building that houses the garden rooms is situated next to the pool and has a roof garden. These rooms are decorated with antique oak floorboards, silk curtains, Italian and Chinese furniture, and of course have stunning views from the private balconies.
