This pristine, elegant house is two kilometres outside Gaucín, just off the hairpin road to Manilva. Casa Mimosa stands in three hectares of olive and fruit groves and is rented in the summer months as a villa/hotel with a young British host, a nanny and a chef. There are exceptional views from the terraces and swimming pool, and a croquet lawn where picnic lunches are served. The traditional white farmhouse has been decorated in an uncluttered, hint-of-Morocco style, with the owners antiques, books and original art discreetly on display.Two of the three bedrooms in the main house are air-conditioned; one has a private terrace with stairs down to the swimming pool. There is a separate one-bedroom cottage, The Chapel, with a small kitchen/living room. All bedrooms are stocked with monogrammed towels supplied by the villa company. This is a luxury all-inclusive villa where, thanks to the staff, guests are invited to do absolutely nothing. On the downside, there may be few opportunities to fraternise with the Gaucín natives. | |
