The countryside and woodland around Porto Vecchio are renowned for their unspoilt beauty, especially the stunning Bavella massif, one of many excursions that can be made in a day-trip from this area. Casa Mela is therefore a real find, being only 10 kilometres from Porto Vecchio itself, and also just a 15-minute drive from the numerous beautiful beaches nearby. The villa is situated in private grounds, the extensive gardens on two levels providing a wonderful play area for children, while an array of flower-filled pots and bushes gives the grounds a gentle and homely feel, in contrast to the spectacular untamed countryside just beyond. The large terrace that leads from the French windows of the living room is romantically illuminated at night, inviting dinner and entertainments to continue well into the evening. Steps lead down from this terrace to the garden and lawns in front of the house. The villa has been designed to encourage the al fresco lifestyle at every opportunity, and a stone-built barbecue to the side of the house means you may never use the kitchen! The traditional hamlet of Mela is just 200m away, where you will find evocative charm and the basic local store. There is the added attraction of also being only a few minutes drive away from a working farm, where local organic produce can be bought to prepare delicious and healthy meals.
