Casa Manu combines the rustic charm of a simple country cottage with the luxury of a private pool, the best of both worlds. Reached along a rough track through the woods above the village of Coreglia Antelminelli, Casa Manu is a completely private retreat. Spread out below is the spectacular panorama of the mountainous chain of the Apuan Alps, to whose steep slopes little medieval villages cling. The pool, set on a grassy terrace above the house, and bordered by lavender, enjoys the best of this vista. Casa Manu comprises not just one stone-built cottage, but two adjacent ones, with an independent spacious double room and bathroom in the second cottage forming a perfect nook for those requiring extra independence. The main cottage comprises a sitting room with an open fireplace, which can be welcome when the evenings are chillier in spring and autumn. The large ground floor kitchen-diner is well equipped, while an open wooden stairway leads up to the first floor bedrooms. Outside on the patio, under the shade of an evergreen oak is a stone table for enjoying al fresco barbecues. | |
