Estartit lies on the northern coast about 30 miles from the airport at Gerona and although this was originally a fishing village, the new development to the south has turned it into a great holiday destination. A good range of holiday accommodation, mainly in the mid to lower bracket, can be found here, and while the shops might not be the best you will find that there are enough to cater for all of your holiday requirements. The beach is long and sandy and offers all kinds of water sports for you to try. There are diving schools which offer beginners courses for tourists which are ideal for exploring the coral and aquatic life found just off the coast. If you have still not tired the children out with all of this, a fun fare at the edge of town and mini golf should do the trick, and add the bars, discos and hotel entertainment here, and you will understand why this destination attracts families back year after year |
