WE WENT ON OUR FIRST LOG FLIGHT TO SRI LANKA. THE HOTEL WAS EXCELLENT THE ROOM WAS CCLEANED DAILY AND HAD FRESH LINEN AND TOILETRIES.

Excellent beaches. Fairly basic and clean hotel with friendly staff. Food is good with a good variety. Some nice boat trips down by the beach. Not much in the way of entertainment.

We stayed at Browns Beach for three nights after doing a tour of Sri Lanka. As we were on honeymoon we received a free upgrade, the room was dirty and smelt of moth balls, the shower leaked all over the bathroom and there was hundreds of mosquitos!!...See the full report

| Sri Lanka offers visitors a brilliant combination of cultural, natural history and palm fringed golden sandy beaches lapped by the warm Indian Ocean. In fact the sea has a year round temperature of 27C. The climate is tropical and temperatures on land decrease only in relation to the height above sea level. Flights go directly from the UK to Colombo airport on the island taking approximately 12 hours. Popular resorts include Waikkal, Negambo and Beruwela which marks the start of a 130km beach. Popular with visitors is the Udawalawe National Park where you will see elephants, water buffalo, deer and crocodiles, amongst others, in the bush. Poya Day is a Buddhist celebration of each full moon day, and no alcohol is served or sold on this day. | |
