Mykonos is a member of the Cyclades group of islands that is almost completely reliant on tourism. 12 miles long and 10 miles wide, it is quite barren with a number of good resorts to try. Mykonos town is probably one of the best, with lots of small churches to see, while Platys Gialos has probably the best beaches. The others, Ano Mera, Kalafatis and Aghios Stefanos all provide enough to be worth a visit, with Ornos the place to go to look at the yachts in the marina. Luxury hotels right through to apartments and self-catering establishments are here for you to try, and supermarkets, souvenir and gift shops will ensure all your needs are well catered for. The beaches vary from resort to resort, and most are quite good with lots of sand, although some can be a bit rocky. Plenty to see and do during the day, and the night brings an abundance of bars and tavernas, that will have you partying until the early hours of the morning. | |
