Beira Mar Hotel Baga

This is a popular hotel for birdwatching, due to its location next to a natural area, and close to the beach. Goa was once ruled by the Portuguese and still has many influences left today. The local markets have a bustling atmosphere where you can haggle for local silk, spices, fruit and vegetable`s, souvenirs, jewellery, carpets and carvings. The local cuisine uses rice, fish or coconut to make great delicately spiced curries, and fine seafood dishes. The Hotel is 400 metres from Baga beach and overlooks the Indian countyside and paddyfields. The hotel is only minutes from Calangute beach which is nearly 4 miles long. There are good local watersports and even a chance to go dolphin watching. In the centre of the town is a Tibetan market and it is only 10 miles to the capital of Panajim.
