Carrapateira, on the south west coast of Portugal is about 1,5 kms drive from Faro Airoprt. The village is surrounded by sand dunes and green hills, a far cry from the busy south coast. Carrapateira lies in the middle of the Parque Natural sw da Costa Vicentina.a natural park stretching from Aljezur to Sagres on the westcoast, and from Sagres to Burgau on the southcoast. On the grass-covered hills surrounding the village sheep, goats and cows graze the whole year round and countless footpaths follow winding rivers to the sea Carrapateira is a small village with a few bars and restaurants. The beaches near here are spectactuar and popular with surfers.

Self catering in a camping car. A fantastic beachside stay for two weeks beside an unspoilt beach. Superb surfing, scenery and scintillating neighbours (Belgians). Will definitely return in the near future.See the full report
