Apollen House Hotel

Located of the main highway, reached by a narrow twisting road and 2 miles inland. The nearest beach is of fine white sand stretching for miles, one of the longest in the Mediterranean. There is an entrance fee which is donated to the conservation area, but beware the far end is prone to strong currents. Patara has a wealth of ancient ruins, including a 1st century triple arch, a theatre, an acropolis and also the birthplace of St Nicholas. As all building was halted in 1993 shopping and entertainment is limited to small bars/restaurants, shopping to the daily essentials. Plenty of excursions to places such as the canyon at Sakilikent, sunken city of Kekova and Pamukkale. Would suit more mature couples and families and obviously those looking for a little extra ancient charm.

We booked a week in Patara on a last minute deal,landed at dalaman got the coach to fethiye and then we where transfered to a dolmus on to Patara.As we drove through the village for the first time our initial thought were `oh my god it`s a shanty tow...See the full report
