Albion House is located on the edge of the small village of Pano Elounda, which forms part of the community of Elounda. Pano Elounda has been designated a European Heritage Site and work is under way to remove the more obvious signs of modern life, returning the village to how it might have looked at the beginning of the 20th century. Pano Elounda, along with the lower village of Kato Elounda, form the oldest settlements of Elounda and its great age is reflected in its narrow winding streets and charming old stone houses. There are three kafenions or cafes in the village - one of which is just next door, where Maria will make you the cheapest and best Greek coffee in town!

This traditional stone house is full of atmosphere, quiet, comfortable and with wonderful sea and mountain views. Not for everyone, but if you want a get away from it all holiday in a real Cretan Village, this should suit you very well. (Bedworth)See the full report
