Kissimmee is known as the gateway to Disney World due to its close proximity to the theme parks and other major attractions. Highway 192 basically links the city of Kissimmee to the Walt Disney World Maingate area. Sitting next to Orlando many visitors to central Florida opt to stay in Kissimmee rather than Orlando itself, and there is plenty of accommodation available including motels, hotels and villas. There are plenty of places to eat in Kissimmee ranging from the 'eat as much as you can' breakfasts, (where people get their moneys worth before hitting the theme parks), to the more up market restaurants. Kissimmee also has plenty to offer shoppers with large shopping complexes, designer stores and factory outlets.
