A very social atmosphere can be enjoyed at the friendly Chrysoula Apartment complex which is ideal for couples and families. This family run accommodation is modern in style and well-maintained with basic but comfortable facilities. There is a swimming pool on-site, and it is conveniently close to the beach and a range of holiday amenities.

My husband and i have just returned from a 2 week stay at Chrysoula, On arrival we were unsure of apartment (B Block )we had requested D/E or F block, after reading reports of unsatisfactory conditions, we soon settled in, pleasantly surprised.

Cleaners visited every day, bed changed mid-week, cupboards smelt awful but okay when cutlery was washed and left on drainer, this was minimal, but micro-wave, toaster, kettle provide.

We did not require Air-condiditioning, $35 per week, a floor fan provided, more than adequate.

Family run business, Chrysoula the owner, daughter Poppy, who was very helpful, more so than her mother, who hardly smiled, Poppies granny was lovely, sits in chair peeling potatoes, her chips are very nice, pricey at $3.50, standard of food very good.

Local shop, 5min walk, Jimmys, extremely friendly, (they gave us a small bottle of Ouzo, when we left), bigger super markets further along road.

There are bars and restaurants leading to Harbour (about 35min walk) Standard of food very good, reasonably priced, recommend, T4-2 for fabulous English breakfast, owners Mary/Dave.

Antonio's Restaurant, also Scorpio's, which catered for all tastes, ie: Indian, Chinese and English: Rainbow Restaurant is a must if you have a big appetite.

Beach is 10min flat walk from apartment, beautiful blue sea, lovely for snorkelling if you are up for it, 2x sunbeds/umbrella $7 per day, If adventurious enough swim out to beautiful Island 'Kestri' on reaching the Island quite a climb up rocks to ring church bell, but exhilerating to achieve.

No Taxis, if one required the staff at apartment will book one for you, but to get to Kos town very expensive $60 each way!!.

Possibly would not go back, only because there is so much of Greece to be visited, but overall we had a very enjoyable Holiday.

"We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at these apartments, we hadn't been able t..."

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at these apartments, we hadn't been able to see many photos of them before our arrival. We were in F block which was fairly new, it was cleaned every day clean bed linen mid week and clean towels whenever you left them on floor to be changed.

We had a superb king sized bed, daughters bed was in kitchen area and again was a good quality bed, we didn't use air conditioning as large floor fan was sufficient for us, others in complex did use air con at a cost of approx 5 euros per day...

Reception/pool/bar are all one place with excellent choice of cooked meals varying from cooked english breakfast, plate of chips with bread and butter, burgers, spaghetti dishes etc these were very reasonable at approx 6 euros per meal.

Staff were very friendly, pool area very clean, relaxing, good location for good walk in to village with lots of eating places, various gift/supermartkets cafes and bars on way, excellent location for beach and excellent friendly.

JIMS Supermarket and a local car hire place( cheap car hire from here) are all on door step...And to top it all weather was fab..

NO RAIN...a cool breeze every day which sometimes gets quite wild but we loved this as it cooled us down, a lovely peaceful relaxing hol..

Many people at resort have returned, year after year...Couple we got friendly with are on year 22..can't recomend more than that i would say..

Overall the Chrysoula Apartments are ok. They are clean spacious and functional we were in block d which was a newer block. However arivals and departures always seem to be occuring in the middle of the night the food and drink at the pool bar was good but very expensive and a smile wouldnt of cost anything.

The complex is fairly well away from the main hub of things and a 25 minute walk to the harbour. We hired a dt 125 for 5 days from manolis for 95 eauros and a buggy (cute) from trust for 35 euros for one day.

Rock bar was lovely atmosphere the riverside cafe for my lovely english breakfasts every day!

Kefalos itself was very quiet the main strip is a bit away from these apartments kardamena was well worth a visit and much livelier and kos town was lovely with lots of history ie castle and hypocrates tree.

Not much in the way of shopping so i would recomend a day trip to turkey which cost 80 euros with travel rep for 2 people to buy stuff. One very very disapointing part of our holiday was on our final day when we got asked to leave our apartments around 2 pm and told if we paid an extra 25 euros we could stay. so we paid it.

On the notice board it said 20.00 am so we thought it was till 8 am the next day as our flight was at 5.30 am! So we came back to our room went to bed about 10.30 and got woken up by 3 maids and then chrysoula rang the room and asked us to leave!

We were disgusted we had to get ready and finish packing while maids stood waiting!!!! Then we went and sat round the pool till around 3 30am when the bus came!

I do not recomend having a night flight! We will not be returning to Kos as we were bored we visited all of the island on the bike and couldnt find nothing else to do.

I'd recomend this island for people who want to relax and do NOTHING AT ALL but after seeing all the island there was nothing else to do.

Fantastic holiday, but only for adults as children will get easily bored. Sunshine, great walks, and a beautiful clear sea. Many trips to offshore islands and Turkey. If you want to chill out in a beautiful quiet resort with wonderful bars and restaurants and lovely helpful people - this is the place for you.
One word of warning, however. If you want to hire a car give Trust Tours Car Rental a miss. You will NOT get your deposit of 20 euros back. They will always find something that they say was not there when you took the car away. We had a tny scratch on the PLASTIC wheel trim which they reckoned would take 20 euros to paint out!
There are other car hire companies - do yourself a favour, use them. Just ask the owner of the hotel you are in and he will tell you!

The standard of cleanliness at Chrysoula was very low, dirty floors, smelly cupboards, in which you could not keep even tea or coffee as the smell clung to everything. The microwave had food spattered all over the inside and the cutlery drawer had a wooden spoon which was green. Kefalos is a great resort but I would not recommend the Chrysoula at all.

"The Chrysousla Apartments were excellent, one of the est equipped we have stayed at in Greec..."

The Chrysousla Apartments were excellent, one of the est equipped we have stayed at in Greece. Rooms were comfortable and a good sized pool with a pool bar which was a little pricey. The staff were helpful and friendly. Located in a quiet area away from the main road with the beach being a 10 minute level stroll. The beach itself was a major disappointment rather grubby and it shelved rather deeply into the sea. Kefalos gives the impression of being run down and we understand its popularity has declined over the past few years. Some excellent tavernas here especially Hubs, Argo and Captain Johns. Best avoided The Wave where you wait an eternity for your food, even by Greek standards.
