The Paleo Inn is a popular choice with guests who return year after year, not only for the stunning location but the friendly staff and warm welcome. The perfect spot for relaxing by the pool and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Other facilities at the Paleo Inn include a Swimming pool, Snack bar, Bar, Satellite TV in lounge area, Exchange, Air conditioning – payable locally, Fridge, Library, Pool table, darts and a gaming machine.

Traditional greek atmospere, 1st class staff, rooms basic but clean, lovely pool area and a central location.

"My wife and I have taken holidays in Paleokastritsa many times, but this was our first time ..."

My wife and I have taken holidays in Paleokastritsa many times, but this was our first time at the Paleo Inn. I would definitely go back, The owner, his wife and the staff are lovely people. The breakfast is adequate, the Pool is ideal, the rooms ( we were on the ground floor) were small but clean, and the fridge was very welcome.
Air con was only available on the upper floor, Fortunately we were on the north side which was shaded, and quite cool.
We were bothered at times by cats that seem to come over the wall from some ' animal lover' next door.

The location is ideal- central for tavernas, supermarkets, and the beach, which is a bit too rocky for my taste- so the pool sufficed every day. Do try the BBQ at the Faros/ Maria studios on a saturday night - good value, and at Angelas on a Wednesday night
The Paleo inn seems to attract good, decent clientel, as does Paleokastritsa
so it's definitely a good place for a holiday.

"Paleo Inn rated as 1 * should be upgraded at least to 3*.

Paleo Inn rated as 1 * should be upgraded at least to 3*.
Pool is small but adequate for the number of guest,s who want to use it, well maintained. Never crowded though there are ample sun loungers to cope.
Rooms though basic cannot be faulted . Shower and toilet ect.
And are well cared for by Hellen who also cooks breakfasts.
Breakfasts consists of egg fried - boiled -homelett or scrambled - two slices toast -jam - yogurt coffee tea ect or ham an extra charge is made for full english breakfast , but you dont require it .
Stavrouler who serves breakfast and gives impromptu lessons in greek, If you are feeling down at breakfast you can guarantee that she will lift your spirits, with her light hearted -jovial - and exremly freindy nature, I gaurentee you will leave with a smile on your face.
Andreas, you have two gems with those two.
We did,nt use the bar much (too tired at the end of a busy day ) but it was very popular with other guests, Spiros - or Nikos not sure of name is a star.
Only down side at the Paleo is the lack of air conditioning.
However you can hire a fan.
Paleokatritsa, Fantastic scenery - lovely bays - water taxis to take you and fetch you. Tarvenas that serve good food at value for money- at prices to suit all pockets enough music bars to keep all tastes happy (3)
Never had a bad meal. Within reach are small oldy world villages - or hire car or scooter if you are brave, and go explore. We just chilled out locally
14 nights and days of pure pleasure.
Aged 62 and 63 so dont worry aboit the talk of hills, you will get around!

"EXCELLENT!!! Truely one of the best holidays we've had, not only because the island is ..."

EXCELLENT!!! Truely one of the best holidays we've had, not only because the island is extremely beautiful and prices are extremely low, but primarily because the locals were exceptionally friendly, helpful, good-natured and polite! What a difference this makes to the quality of a holiday!! The Paleo Inn is hardly De-lux, but what it lacked in splendour, it more than made up for in cleanliness, atmosphere and intimacy. Food, (Breakfast and snacks) was very acceptable. The pool area was clean, well laid out and never over-crowded. The patio-bar area was a pleasant meeting place and melting pot for guests to mingle and socialize. This is NOT a place to stay if you want a wild or outrageous holiday of booze and night-clubs! THANK GOD!! But absolutely perfect for romantic couples, family groups, adventurers. (Hiring a car or a moped - both very cheap - is a MUST to fully appreciate this beautiful island.) The scenery is spectacular, the beaches are clean and plentiful. The owners of Paleo Inn are blessed to have the services of Spiro, a true gentleman in all his dealings with the guests, and the lovely Stefrulla (spelling??) who made breakfast and lunch-time so amusing and enjoyable! Thankyou ALL, for a really enjoyable holiday! WE'LL BE BACK!! Peter and Donna! (PS. I heard a rumour that Thompson's contract with this venue would be expiring soon!! It should be extended indefinitely!!) (Galway)

"We used Thompson JUST. We had mini bus transfers to/from resort which made transfers rapid. ..."

We used Thompson JUST. We had mini bus transfers to/from resort which made transfers rapid. Hotel is excellent, basic but clean and friendly with excellent maid service. Beware - no air condtioning. Bathroom would have put some 4 star greek hotels I have stayed in to shame. The Fridge in the room was almost new. Beds comfortable and pillows good quality for Greece.

Breakfast is Omelette with ham or cheese, or boiled or fried eggs PLUS 2 slices toast, jams and butter, then tea, coffee or orange juice. Get down to breakfast at 8am before it gets busy, otherwise you may have to wait a while. Pool is excellent and has ample quality sun loungers. Pool area also has 2 fully equipt wet rooms with showers and loos which are good for clean ups and changing on day of departure if you have a night flight.

Snack meals can also be obtained from hotel and full english breakfast is available after 10am each day at extra cost. Bar is well stocked.

Small cove beach is just over the road from hotel. Staff are wonderful. What the brochure does not tell you is that its the only hotel I have stayed in that had a mini library (about 60 paperback or hardback books) in the lounge for guests to borrow books (in English). Full size Snooker table, darts and TV in main bar area. Safety deposit boxes at 7 Euro per week (cheap). Nearby restaurants (within 5-15 mins walk) Best are Spiros and Oasis (very good food and filling), Belvedere and Neirids (more expensive but wonderful food). The resort is NOT suitable for the disabled due to sheer amount of walking to get anywhere. The resort is strung out along a road that takes about 40 minutes to walk along start to finish, and is hilly with virtually no pavements. Minimal facilities for children outside major hotels.

Green bus to Corfu town is 1.70Euro in each direction per person. Bus has loos on it and is like National Express coaches here. Bus goes to main bus terminus in Corfu which is near both old and new ports, market and shops. It runs every 2 hours.

Car hire -Island Cars near Paleo Inn was much cheaper than UK quotes - Daewoo Kalos was 114Euro for 3 days and they chucked a 4th day in free. Fully comp plus CDW.

Basically I cannot fault this hotel - the only downside is the lack of air conditioning. The temperature was 32 degree minimum when we were there and the nights were warm to put it mildly.

I would happily stay at this hotel again. Wondeful holiday. (Norfolk)

This place is to die for, its laid back approach to holiday life is the best we have come across in a long time, the surroundings are breath taking and the staff at the Inn were brilliant, Corfu town offered everything in the way of shopping and very reasonably priced as well. The weather was lovely and we lazed around the pool strolled to the monastry and visited all the tavernas on route back. We loved it so much we are returning same time next year. So Spiros and friends see you then. (Amble)

"My son (aged 20) and I had our first 'boys' holiday at this hotel. We were looking..."

My son (aged 20) and I had our first 'boys' holiday at this hotel. We were looking for a quiet & relaxing sunny holiday & that is exactly what we got. The room (No 20) was of a good size, ample storage (wardrobes & drawers)& had a fridge for the beers, our balcony overlooked the sea, hotel pool & bay. The owner & his staff are always helpfull & available whenever you needed them. The breakfast is OK. with roll & meat & Tea or Coffee but it is worth the £1.25 extra for the Full English. A 2 Minute walk gives you numerous cafe/bars or excellent eateries. £8 will give you a starter, main course & a beer.

Our first time to Corfu and Paleo Inn, great holiday, nice weather, plenty of lovely taverna's - not a bad meal anywhere. Try the Belevedere and Horizon.
Theo's Boat trip is a must. We had great fun at the Hotel Paleo Inn, small and friendly. Recommended.

"Paleokastritsa is simply stunning and wonderfully relaxing. It is not for the night owl..."

Paleokastritsa is simply stunning and wonderfully relaxing. It is not for the night owl's and it has more of a laid back feel to it. The beaches are superb and sea is amazing, make sure you take bread into the sea and be amazed at the swarm of fish that suddenly come around you. The beaches are stoney with lots of pebbles so I would not really recommend for children. The restaurants are out of this world and so cheap, we paid about £15 for two course meal with wine and the portions were huge and very tasty. There are a few shops in Paleo but I would recommend getting the local bus (about 500 drac - £1) to Corfu town, it is about half an hour journey and is deffinaltley worth a visit, shoppers paradise to say the least. The people in Paleo are so freindly and especially at the Paleo Inn. Paleo Inn was a perfect place tp stay, in a central location and wonderfully scenic. Well let's put it this way I'm going to go back there next year!!............Happy holidays!
