General Information

Gozo is a small island that lies about 5 miles off the Northwest coast of Malta. A place of great beauty, it has a good range of accommodation on offer, from 5 star hotels right through to simple apartment blocks. The fine sandy at Ramala Bay has plenty of water sports to try, or have a go at swimming from the rocks at Xlendi and Marsalforn. Lots of decent shops can be found in the capital, while the night brings a few bars and the odd disco to life with the majority of entertainment provided by the hotels.

Food

The island of Gozo has a good variety of restaurants, with the majority being situated along the harbour fronts, the food and service are generally 1st class. You won't find the burger and chips brigade here, and the local dishes: Lanmpuki (filleted Dorado mixed with vegetable, rice & pasta in pastry ), Timpana ( pasta in meat sauce with a pastry top ) and Pastizzi (cheese wrapped in pastry ) are all on the menus and worth a try. Fruit and vegetable are grown all year round on the island, so do have some, while the local beers and lagers are very high quality, as are the red and white wines.
